Does ACOD work with Globo Product Options, Variant?

Updated · ACOD (E-TRADE PARTNER)

Yes. Globo handles priced options with add-on products: the app auto-generates a hidden add-on product or links an existing one, and when the option is selected both products appear in the native cart and checkout. Nothing bypasses the checkout, so ACOD applies its fee and rules to every order.

How Globo charges for options

Globo's add-on feature creates hidden add-on products (tagged so you can find them) or links existing ones, hiding them from storefront search via a metafield. Selected options add those products as line items alongside the main product, visible to the customer at checkout.

Quick context on ACOD's side: ACOD works entirely inside the native Shopify checkout through Shopify Functions (payment and delivery customizations). It adds the COD fee as a dedicated shipping rate, links the Cash on Delivery payment method to that rate, and hides or shows COD based on your rules. It adds no theme code and no scripts, so anything that happens before checkout (on your storefront) or after checkout (on placed orders) is outside ACOD's layer and cannot collide with it.

The order-value interaction

One interaction worth knowing, shared by every product options app that charges for options: priced options are added as line items (usually hidden add-on products), so they raise the cart total that the customer checks out with. ACOD's minimum and maximum order-value rules evaluate that final total. That is correct behavior, but if your COD threshold is tight, remember that option fees count toward it.

Independence note

Globo Product Options, Variant is built by Globo and has no affiliation with ACOD or E-TRADE PARTNER. App names belong to their owners. This page describes how the two apps behave side by side, based on Globo's public documentation and Shopify's platform documentation, verified on July 5, 2026. If you spot something outdated, email support@etradepartner.io and we will fix it.

Add a COD fee without touching your other apps

ACOD runs on native Shopify Functions inside checkout: no theme code, no scripts, nothing that collides with the rest of your stack.

Frequently asked questions

Will customers see Globo's add-on products at checkout on COD orders?

Yes, Shopify shows add-ons as separate line items regardless of payment method. That is Globo's documented behavior and has nothing to do with ACOD.

Do Globo option charges affect ACOD's COD fee amount?

No. The fee is whatever you configured on the COD shipping rate. Option charges affect only the merchandise total, which ACOD's order-value rules evaluate.
