Does ACOD work with ReConvert (Upsell.com)?

Updated · ACOD (E-TRADE PARTNER)

Yes, the apps coexist without conflict. ReConvert (rebranded to Upsell.com) never modifies payment methods or shipping rates, so ACOD's layer is untouched. The important expectation to set: Shopify itself never displays one-click post-purchase offers on COD orders, on any store. ReConvert's thank-you page and order-status widgets do work on COD orders, so that is the surface to use for COD upsells.

4.9 · ACOD does this for you: COD fees plus location, order-value, product, and customer rules.

How ReConvert / Upsell.com works

The app offers one-click post-purchase offers through Shopify's official post-purchase extension, plus thank-you page and order-status page widgets, product and cart page offers, and (on Shopify Plus) in-checkout blocks. None of these modify payment method visibility or shipping rates.

Quick context on ACOD's side: ACOD works entirely inside the native Shopify checkout through Shopify Functions (payment and delivery customizations). It adds the COD fee as a dedicated shipping rate, links the Cash on Delivery payment method to that rate, and hides or shows COD based on your rules. It adds no theme code and no scripts, so anything that happens before checkout (on your storefront) or after checkout (on placed orders) is outside ACOD's layer and cannot collide with it.

Why post-purchase offers skip COD orders

The platform fact that matters here: Shopify's developer documentation states the post-purchase page is not shown when the initial purchase was made with a gift card or any payment method other than a credit card. Cash on Delivery is a manual payment method, so one-click post-purchase offers never display on COD orders, on any store, with any app. This is Shopify's rule, confirmed by Shopify staff with no partner exceptions. It applies whether or not ACOD is installed, and no ACOD setting can change it.

Upsell.com's own help center reproduces this limitation and lists non-credit-card methods such as COD among the blocked cases. If a merchant on a COD-heavy store wonders why one-click offers rarely fire, this is the reason, and it predates any COD fee app.

The COD-friendly setup

  • Use ReConvert's thank-you page and order-status widgets for COD orders; they work for every payment method.
  • Keep one-click post-purchase offers on for your prepaid orders; they simply will not surface for COD ones.
  • ACOD's fee nudges some buyers to prepaid, which incidentally grows the population that can see one-click offers.

Independence note

ReConvert (Upsell.com) is built by Upsell.com and has no affiliation with ACOD or E-TRADE PARTNER. App names belong to their owners. This page describes how the two apps behave side by side, based on Upsell.com's public documentation and Shopify's platform documentation, verified on July 5, 2026. If you spot something outdated, email support@etradepartner.io and we will fix it.

Add a COD fee without touching your other apps

ACOD runs on native Shopify Functions inside checkout: no theme code, no scripts, nothing that collides with the rest of your stack.

Frequently asked questions

Is ACOD blocking my ReConvert post-purchase offers on COD orders?

No. Shopify never shows one-click post-purchase offers on orders paid with manual methods like COD, on any store. Uninstalling ACOD would not change that.

Do ReConvert thank-you page funnels work on COD orders?

Yes. Thank-you and order-status page widgets work for all payment methods, so they are the right upsell surface for COD.
