How UpCart works

UpCart is a theme app embed that renders a slide cart with in-cart upsells, add-ons, rewards bars, free gifts, and discount fields. Its free-gift and discount features rely on real Shopify discounts, and checkout hands off to the native flow. Its documented conflicts are theme-level (and one page-builder interaction with PageFly's after-add-to-cart setting), nothing at the checkout layer.

Quick context on ACOD's side: ACOD works entirely inside the native Shopify checkout through Shopify Functions (payment and delivery customizations). It adds the COD fee as a dedicated shipping rate, links the Cash on Delivery payment method to that rate, and hides or shows COD based on your rules. It adds no theme code and no scripts, so anything that happens before checkout (on your storefront) or after checkout (on placed orders) is outside ACOD's layer and cannot collide with it.

How the pairing behaves

  • Every order from UpCart's checkout button flows through the native checkout where ACOD applies the COD fee and rules.
  • Cart add-ons (shipping protection, gift wrap) are line items; they raise the total ACOD's order-value rules evaluate.
  • Discounts UpCart displays are real Shopify discounts; ACOD's rules evaluate the discounted checkout total.
