This is the most common request we get: “if the user selects online payment, no extra charge; if they select COD, add ₹50”. It's exactly the behavior ACOD's link creates. Without the link, an extra shipping rate is just another option anyone can pick with any payment method (or avoid while still choosing COD), which means the fee leaks on exactly the orders that cost you the most.
What to check in your setup
- Keep your normal shipping rates unlinked; they serve prepaid customers.
- Link every COD rate you create (one per zone, or per pay-on-delivery variant) in ACOD → Cash on Delivery fee.
- If you also offer free shipping above a threshold, see Free shipping + COD fee together. The two combine cleanly, but the rate conditions must be right.
Fee on COD, never on prepaid
ACOD's two-way link makes the fee unavoidable for COD and invisible for prepaid. Set it up in about 5 minutes, no coding.

Questions fréquentes
›Customers select COD but the fee doesn't get added. Why?
Usually the COD rate isn't linked in ACOD, or the customer's address is in a zone where you didn't create the COD rate. Verify both, then test with testing mode.
›Can I show a discount for prepaid instead of a fee for COD?
ACOD doesn't create discounts; it works on the surcharge side. For a prepaid discount, use Shopify's native discounts (e.g. a payment-method-agnostic code) or a discount app. Many stores run ACOD's COD fee alone, since it nudges customers to prepaid just as effectively without giving up margin on every prepaid order.
